Horley Town 1 Egham Town 2
After the great win on saturday against second from top Camberley town were full of confidence going against Egham town who were in fourth place. Manager Ali Rennie made a couple of changes from Saturday with Nayee Mithun replacing mark Gilbert and new signing James Brokenhurst replacing Ben Herdman in midfield. Town got of to the perfect start when after only two minutes of play a cross from Adam pullen was headed home into the top corner of the net by top goal scorer Kyle Hough to make it one nil to Horley.
With four played keeper Ian Chatfield pulled of a good save diving to his right he also picked up an injury as well. From the corner ian Chatfield again did well tipping the ball over the cross bar. With nine played Nathan Jupp had a long range shot which was deflected wide for a corner.Five minutes later a long thrown from Chris Weller and the keeper had to punch clear under a lot of Town pressure.
With twenty played jack polett did a good covering tackle at the back. With nineteen left skipper Anthony Jupp again produced a last gasp tackle at the back to keep town in front. With fifteen left Ian Chatfield came out well and saved at the feet of the Egham forward. With nine left Chris Weller got injured and while town were trying to bring on a sub Egham broke beat Weller and fired into the net to make it one one.Chris Weller was then replaced by Tom Winsor. With two minute of the half left Jack Poplett broke into the Egham box and was blocked but the referee waved play on.In the last minute of the half first ian Chatfield again produced a good save before the Egham forward blasted the ball over the rugby field goals.Town went in at half time with the score one one.Town had a sub at half time with James Brokenhurst being replaced by Ben Herdman. With ten played Ben Herdman flicked the ball away and picked up a booking. With ten played Egham were awarded a dodgy free kick and from the shot it went straight into the net to make it two one to Egham.Next the Egham keeper through the ball away but the referee did not book him! with twelve played kyle Hough broke through the centre and the keeper did well saving and pushing the ball out for a corner. From the corner which was taken by Nayee Mithun John Eldred had a shot go just wide of the upright.Five minutes later again kyle broke free and again the keeper did well. From this corner Ben Herdman saw his shot go just over the cross bar. With fifteen left Adam Pullen was replaced with Steve Rowlinson.
Then the very strange refereeing decision which even had the two referee assessors shaking their heads with amazement. he blew for a foul on Nathan Jupp as the ball went away another foul was committed so he said he did not blow his whistle although everybody in the ground heard it and he booked Nathan jupp and gave the free kick to Egham. With ten left Steve Rowlinson went in the referee book who by now had totaly lost the game. With eight left Nayee Mithun put Nathan jupp in but his long range shot went just wide of the upright. With three left Anthony Jupp got sent of for retaliating after the Assistant referee missed a blatant offside.the ten men of Horley continued to push but could not find a second goal. So its back to the drawing board town home form is poor now with only two home wins and with several player unavailable on Saturday they need to bounce straight back away at Chessington.
