See Town hit the upright and have a shot cleared on the line
Town travelled to First Division Knaphill who were playing in the FA Vase for the first time ever. Town were without a few players and there were some changes with Nathan Jupp and Darren Tidy absent. Placed on the bench were John Eldred and Jack Poplett.
From the start Town looked the fitter and stronger team in the opening minute Mark Gilbert put Adam Pullen in and the home keeper just got enough on i to deflect his shot round the post for a corner. From the corner taken by Mark Gilbert Chris Weller had a powerful shot which the home keeper could only parry and they managed to hack the ball to safety.With five played Mark Gilbert has his free kick saved at the second attempt by the home keeper.With seventeen played Adam Pullen put Klie in and his header went just wide of the upright. With twenty one played and Naphill made their second sub of the game.With six minutes left in the half Top goal scorer Kyle controlled the ball and planted it into the back of the net to make it one nil to Town.With a minute left Knaphill had a chance but keeper Ian Chatfield was quick of his line and kick the ball clear.Town went in at half time one nil up. With four played in the second half Adam Pullen hit the upright with his shot (See u tube for the shot) With six played a corner from Mark Gilbert was headed onto the line by Anthony Jupp and Knaphill manged to clear the ball away (See U Tube for the shot).With seven left Ben Herdman beat the offside trap and fired the ball home to put Town two nil up. A minute later and Kyle sent over the perfect ball to Adam Pullen who fired the ball home to make it three nil to Town.Knaphill then used sub number three. With fifty five played Jamie Risebrow was taken off and Jack Poplett came on. Knaphil went on the attack but a great stop by Tom Winsor kept them out.Next Knaphill scored a consolation goal.With twenty five left Mark Gilbert was replaced by Ryan Elsey. Next Harry Williams was replaced by Luke Regetti. Town continued playing the football and got goal number four when Adam knocked the ball onto Jack Poplett who hit he ball on the volley to score number four. This ended a great win for Town and a trip to Kent League side Lordswood in the next Run.
