
Horley Town 0 Dulwich Hamlett 4

Town took on top of the League and unbeaten Ryman League side Dulwich Hamlett in the FA Cup at the New Defence.Town started with a changed line up with only one up front. Town started very well and for the first fifteen minutes they were he better side but after this the team from the higher League took control but Town never gave up playing the football. The opening minutes saw Harry Williams cross to Jack Poplett who was flattened in the box.Town were pressing forward and a free kick form Jack Poplett found its way through to John Eldred whose blockbuster shot was deflected wide for another Town corner.On eleven minutes and Harry Williams had a good shot put round the post for another Town corner.With fifteen played Anthony Jupp did a good covering tackle at the back.With twenty played Chris Weller was forced of injured and on came Ryan Elsey. From the corner Dulwich scored to make it one nil.A minute later and Harry Williams got pushed out of the way so they could take a quick free kick and Dulwich scored goal number two.In the last minute of the first half Dulwich skipper Francis Duka cleared on the line after a fine shot from Town's top goal scorer Kyle Hough and then Harry Williams had his shot cleared on the line by the keeper. Town went in at half time two nil down. With three played Ian Chatfield came out of his area to clear and was then held back so Dulwich took a quick throw with Ian Chatfield well out of his area.With seven played skipper Anthony Jupp got pushed in the box but the referee waved play on.With twelve played Kyle broke into the box and shot and this time the Dulwich defender played the ball down with his hand but again the referee waved play on.Town then made a sub and reverted to two back up front with Harry Williams going of and Nathan Jupp coming on.With twenty two played Dulwich picked up a booking.With fouteen left a goal mouth scramble saw Kyle and Jack Polett both have shots cleared.With thirteen left Town sub the sub with Ryan Elsey of and Town went three at the back with Jamie Risebrow coming on. Risebrow soon put Nathan Jupp throw and the keeper had to pull of a smart save.Play switched to the other end and Dulwich hit the upright.With seven left Dulwich had a shot which took a deflection of Adam Pullen which then beat keeper Ian Chatfield to make it three nil.With five left Chatfield came out well and saved with his feet.Dulwich then scored number four.In the closing minutes Town applied the pressure with shots from Kyle and Nathan Jupp but Town just could not get a goal. The score line did not reflect the game an Town put up a brave fight. Its now back to League action and FA Vase action now.

Horley Town 3 Corinthian Casuals 1 FA CUP


Town started their second game in the FA Cup against higher opponents Ryman League side Corinthina Casusls. Town started with the same line up after the great six one win against Colliers Wood last Monday but welcomed back Darren Tidy on the bench.
Town were still with out the on well Luke Regetti and Gary Thomlinson.We five minutes played a good run down the wing and a Kyle Hough crossed but nobody could get on the end of it. Next a back pass from the defender was picked up by the Casuals keeper but the referee waved play on.With eleven played Casuals had their first attack but Ian Chatfield got down well and saved.With twelve played and Town rode their luck when Casuals hit the upright and the ball rolled to safety.With fourteen played Casuals attacked again and this time Ian Chatfield did well tipping the ball round the post.With seventeen played Adam Pullen found Kyle who went round the Casuals keeper Bracken and from a very tight angle fired the goal home to make it one nil to the Town.With twenty eight played Anthony Jupp produced a great challenge to keep out Casuals.With eleven left Casuals broke again and this time Ian Chatfield managed to tip the ball over the cross bar.With just six lwft and skipper Anthony Jupp cleared on the line for Town.
Right on the strioke of half time Ian Chatfield saved the ball on the line after it had come down from the cross bar.In the first minute of injury time Casuals hit a powerful shot to make it one one. Two minutes into injury time and a goal mouth scramble saw Kyle get in on the end of the ball and plant it into the back of the net to make it two one to Horley at half time.At half time Town made a change with Darren tidy coming on for Liam Cox .With ten played and a one on one saw Ian Chatfield beat the foward to the ball and claer it. With fourteen played a good cover tackle this time from Ben Heardman at the back.Two minutes later and Darren tidy put in John Eldred whose shot was deflected wide.With twenty six left Kyle broke into the box went round the keeper and fired the ball home much to the delight of the home crowd to make it three one to Horley (See the goal on Horley Town U tube). With twenty three left Nathen Jupp was replaced by Harry Williams. Casuals then went on the attack but first Chris Weller and then Tom Winsor cleared the ball well to keep Casuals out.With fifteen minutes left Harry Williams but Kyle through but this time his shot went just over the cross bar.
With nine left Casulas broke through the centre but again Ian Chatfield rose to the occasion and tipped the ball over the cross bar. two minute later Casuals were awarded a free kick on the edge of the box but Ina Chatfield easily saved the shot.
Then he followed up by coming out well punching the ball and then kick it clear outside of the area.With four minutes left Adam Pullen did well clearing at the back.With two minutes left Adam Pullen was replaced by Ryan Elsey.
Well done to referee Darren Eaton for a good game as well.
This ended at great day fo Town and a memorable victory for the Club.The £1,500 will also come in handy.

Greenwhich Borough 1 Horley Town 2 FA CUP

Town travelled to Kent League Side Greenwhich Borough who play at Holmsdales very basic ground. Town were forced into changes after Tuesday's good win with Darren Tidy injured and Ben Herdman, Harry Williams and Rynn Elsey unavailable.Town started well with several early attacks after five minutes Nathan Jupp and a defender collided with the home keeper and he was forced of injuryed. On came their Sub goal keeper.From the kick off Greenwhich broke down the right and forced keeper Ian Chatfield into a good save.With thirteen played the Number five pushed Nathan Jupp over with both hands in the box and the hopeless referee waved play on with everybody in the ground looking at each other in amazement! Two minutes later and Kyle Hough broke into the box and was pulled down with a bad tackle and again the hapless referee waved play with even the nutrals in the ground saying the referee was a homestar.Town had all the play until the fired just wide of the upright.With sixteen left John Eldred broke free and headed just over the cross bar.This was followed by a corner by Luke Ragetti's corner which was fired goal bound by Jack Poplett.Against the run of play with seven left Ian Chatfield pulled of another good save but Greenwhich followed up and scored.In the last minute of the first half Nathan Jupp got up well but his header went just wide of the upright.Town had more injury problems with Chris Weller going of inured at half time,and he was replaced by Gay Thomlinson.Town changed their formation as well.With two minutes played Laim Cox went inn the referee's book for a foul.Three minutes later Jack Poplett put in Kylie Hough who rounded the keeper but his shot hit the side netting.Luke Reggeti then had a long range free kick tipped over the bar but again the referee said a goal kick to Greenwhich Borough.With eight played Nathan Jupp had a shot which the keeper dropped and he managed to clear to a defender.
With twelve played Borough finally picked up a booking.This was closely followed by another booking for Borough.With tweety four left a great run down the wing wing by Adam Pullen who beat three played before crossing to Kylie Hough whose bicycle lob went over the keeper and into the back of the net for the equiliser.With twenty left Borough were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Town box. From the kick Ian Chatfield pulled a top class save somehow saving at the far post to keepr Town in the game.
With eighteen left the referee gave Town a goal kick Borough complained and the referee changed his mind and gave a corner!With sixteen left Jack Poplett broke along the wing and crossed the perfect ball to Kylie Hough who lobbed the keeper into the far corner of the net to make it two one to Town.This was followed by Luke Ragetti being replaced by Mark Gilbert.
With thirteen Ian Chatfield again pulled of a top class save.With twelve left Jack Poplett had a shot go just over he cross bar.With seven left and Borough knock the ball out for a corner right by the assistant referee who gives the corner and again the referee who was no where near the ball gave a goal kick to Borugh.With five left Nathern Jupp was replaced with Max Davie.With twop minutes of injury time played Borough got a free kick wide on the left and Ian Chatfield did well saving it and Borough were out and Town were throw to the next round to meet High and mighty Corinthain Casuls in the next round at home.
