The second corner was met with a bullet header from Steve Rollinson which just cleared the bar.On 15 minutes after some persistent wing play from Tidey he was pulled down in the penalty area. From the spot kick top scorer Kyle Hough put Horley ahead. Horley were now piling on the pressure but to goal line clearances by Cove kept the score a 1-0. A shot from Pullin struck the arm of a Cove defender but the referee waved away the penalty appeals. Then a shot from Kevin Lock was well saved by McNeil in the Cove goal. As halftime approached some great passing resulted in Jack Poplett going through one on one with the Cove keeper. The keeper made a rash challenge but again the referee turned away the penalty appeals.
Horley came out all guns blazing in the second half and following a great pass from John Eldred on 51 minutes Kyle Hough broke free and planted a low drive in the bottom corner to put Horley 2-0 ahead.
On 61 minutes Kevin Lock broke free and slotted coolly past the keeper to make the score 3-0. Shortly after a free kick from Vinnie Bond struck the Horley upright and then the injured Chatfield made a great save to prevent Cove reducing the deficit.

Horley went on the attack again but this time gave the ball away carelessly and Cove counter attacked with great pace. The ball ending up with Andrew Harwood and he calmly finished to make the score 4-1.
Horley weren’t finished though and again started to push forward. In the last minute of normal time the ball was played through to Kevin Lock, he again held off a defender before rifling his shot into the bottom corner to complete his hat trick and make the score 5-1.
