Chessington & Hook United 1 Horley Town

With all the changes it took Town ages to settle and they never did play any controlled football on a poor bumpy pitch in the sunshine Chessington could have won by six if it was not for their poor finishing and good goal keeping from Ian Chatfield. The midfield was never involved in the game and Town only had one shot on target all afternoon. With seven played and united broke free but shot well over the cross bar. With eight played Town had their first attack with a good cross from Nayee Mithun but nobody got on the end of it.With ten played United again broke free but fired well wide of the goal. With fifteen played again United broke free this time firing just wide of the upright. Two minutes later and Ian Chatfield pulled of a great save putting the ball against the post and Tom Winsor followed up and cleared on the line. With twenty six left Town were awarded a free kick inside the box when the keeper picked the ball up from a backpass. Town totally wasted the free kick having little idea what to do.With fifteen left Tom Winsor again produced a good covering tackle at the back. This was followed by a corner from United which went just wide of the upright. Then it was finaly Town turn to at least have a shot when Nayee Mithun set up Daniel Kelly but the youngster frothe Youth team hit high over the cross bar. With ten left a header from United went well wide of Chatfield upright with only Ian too beat. With nine left Chtfield did well coming of his line and saving at the feet of the forward. In the last minute of the half United got a free kick on the edge of the Town box but again they fired wide. After the very poor performance in the first half the travelling supporters were hoping for better in the second half although having only one sub did not help. Unfortunately it was not to be any better.Staright away United went o he attack and Chatfield was forced into a good save tipping the ball round the post.Minutes later and United were free again with only Chatfield to beat but again the fired wide.Town finaly had a shot on target when John Eldred set up Nayee Mithun but his shot was saved by the home keeper. With thirteen played a good move by Town at last but again nobody was in the box and United cleared the ball with Daniel kelly going down injured. With fifteen played United broke again and this time they scored. Next United had a player booked for kicking the ball away. With twenty one John Eldred got pushed in the back in the penalty area but the referee waved play on.A minute later Nathan Jupp got the ball into the back of the net and the referee blew for a goal only for United to complain the referee then changed his mind after talking to the assistant despite the assistant not raising his flag so Town were robbed of the goal. With eighteen left Jack Poplett had a long range shot. With fifteen left
Daniel Kelly was replaced with Jim Brockenhurst. With nine minutes left United broke free again with only Chatfield to beat he hit his header high and wide. Then the United sub got booked and this was followed by Jack Poplett going in the referee book.
